We are situated on the sound and sandy beach pictured, considered by many to be the best beach in the East Cape area. On arrival at Oceanside Apartments you will be greeted by Jan with a complimentary beverage, then you can relax and enjoy your spacious unit, fully self contained accommodation Waihau Bay, both of which have sea views. For a beach or fishing holiday you will appreciate the sound and sandy beach here for swimming, walking or a spot of surf casting on the rocks or off the beach. If your plan is to tour the east cape, the drive from Waihau Bay previous Lottie Point and Hicks Bay to Te Araroa and onto the lighthouse are all within a 45min drive.
If you want a more extensive guide to the East Cape picks up the OPOTIKI, EAST CAPE BEYOND VIA THE PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY from the information centers at Whakatane, Opotiki or Gisborne. PARADISE FOUND A pleasing drive of one and a half hours from Opotiki takes you through the lovely scenic coastal road of State highway 35, winding preceding driftwood strewn bays, rocky foreshore, bush clad hillsides, and sound sandy swimming beaches, on arrival at Oceanside apartments a complimentary beverage will be served. We can arrange a Guided Maori Historical and scenic walk, which can include a visit to the local mare, where the tribes' history is depicted in mural form
