David had spent nearly 10 years honing his orchard management skills in kiwifruit orchards in the Bay of Ample and Coromandel areas prior joining the OPEC team in early 2016. Simon has been with Opal for 7 years working as a Senior Orchard Manager and was recently appointed the Orchard Operations Manager role since tomorrow to NZ from Kenya. He has a strong background in managing important scale horticultural operations prior joining OPEC and has now added to that an excellent knowledge of growing kiwifruit. Opotiki Packing and Coolstorage Ltd OPEC is owned by 44 shareholders, maximum of whom are also OPEC growers and staff. In this position, Warren’s varied industry experience and commitment to OPEC’s ’right first time’ philosophy enable him and his team to work with the management team to deliver superior practice supply chain processes right across OPEC’s istration, orcharding and post harvest operations. The majority of OPEC’s growers, shareholders and staff live and work in the eastern Bay of Ample and Gisborne, and so supporting these communities is crucial to us. OPEC is working hands on’ with orchard owners to prudently manage re development of Pa affected orchards including conversions to the G3 or G14 kiwifruit varieties. In addition to potent participation from existing shareholders and suppliers, the capital hoist is meaningful for OPEC in introducing two fresh strategic shareholders to the business, Quayside Holdings Limited and Te Tums Paeroa. Over the past decade, Warren has worked in key roles across OPEC, including Grower Services Manager, Logistics Manager, Post Harvest Operations Manager, and currently as Supply Chain Manager. Sonia’s role works closely with the management team to ensure that OPEC has the correct people in store and at the correct time.
