The Whakat hea M ori Trust Board the Trust Board was established in 1952 and is constituted under the M ori Trust Board’s Act 1955. The Trust Board is made up of twelve members elected from the six hap of Whakat hea. Through strong leadership and a clear Vision, the Board has set a path for the next 50 years that focuses on improving the wellbeing and prosperity of its people. Our enthusiastic and highly skilled team share a passion for providing inspirational displays of historical and culturally significant treasures, for our future generations to learn and pass on. The T newhirinaki Meeting house was opened in 1886, at Waioeka pa in the 1920’s, however today it no longer stands. The carvings on display are those that were brought back from the Auckland Museum and the complete collection stands at Ng ti Ira Marae. Maintain important relationships within local community contributes their time immensely, hard work goes in to maintaining the artifacts and exhibits.
